What is Sarah Palin?

2 December 2009 · Leave a Comment

Former Alaskan Governor and 2008 Republican Vice Presidential candidate Sarah Palin represents cult of personality more than any serious political platform.

I couldn’t agree with the author more; Americans predominately from the Democrat and Republican Parties are obsessed with finding this messianic figure to lead them to their personal vision of a utopia.

The Myth of Objective Journalism

9 November 2009 · Leave a Comment

Thanks to the Southern Avenger.

I would add to the video content, this would be a great time to develop a “counter” newspaper, call it republican or the right side, to the leftist Columbus Dispatch. Not knowing the markets in Cincinnati, Cleveland or Toledo, I would think the chances of getting a newspaper off the ground and oriented toward freedom and liberty in the capital city might be possible, if not successful (not that the Ohio Republican Party have been oriented toward freedom and liberty in the last 20 years; I prefer to use the word in the literal context of the word republican, not the party).

Comrade Jimmy Carter Throws Out the Race Card

16 September 2009 · 1 Comment

Just when Jimmy Carter couldn’t look more foolish, he decides to throw out the race card.

U.S. Rep. Joe Wilson’s oldest son defended his father against a claim by former President Jimmy Carter that the congressman’s outburst during a speech by President Barack Obama was “based on racism.”

Responding to an audience question at a town hall at his presidential center in Atlanta, Carter said Tuesday that Wilson’s outburst was also rooted in fears of a black president.

“I think it’s based on racism,” Carter said. “There is an inherent feeling among many in this country that an African-American should not be president.”

My word, if that doesn’t take all. As far as I am concerned all the drama is nothing more than a smoke screen the MSM is using to divert our attention from the real issues, like the Great 00′ Depression, The Wall Street Swindle, The Attack of the Federal Reserve and of course The Endless War.

The puppet masters parade an old has-been President with strong socialist beliefs out in front of the cameras and he calls the Representative, Joe Wilson, a “racist;” how staged is that? No, this is all a smoke screen, a grand opportunity by the left to slow down the wave of discontentment growing in every quarter of America.

Well I don’t know about you, but I think the heat is getting ready to be turned up little higher…just something to think about.

DeWine: I Am a Narcissist

22 July 2009 · Leave a Comment

DeWine announced his candidacy for Attorney General and his reason for running, bla bla bla…but the truth be told he’s running simply because he’s a narcissist.

If Ohio is in such economic shambles Mike, go start a business, because right now we need more business and less government.

No Nose Holding for Husted

24 June 2009 · Leave a Comment

Matt Hurley has a worthy comment about Ohio Republican Party’s version of the Breck Girl, Jon Husted,

Establishment Republicans like to think that the problems with the brand here in Ohio is solely the concern of former Governor Bob Taft but I think it goes beyond just that. Ohioans are fed up with the business-as-usual attitude that the Taft era politicans gave us and Jon Husted was a member of leadership at that time, so he is just as guilty as anybody. Does anybody really think that Chris Redfern and the Democrats won’t use Taft’s Speaker Husted as a prop for saying that the Ohio GOP hasn’t changed? I can see that ad already…and the Facebook, Yahoo, and Google splashes too…

What does Jon Husted offer besides more headaches? This is a legitimate question I am asking here…

No nose holding here; I will not vote for Husted, and will certainly vote for one of the socialist democrats that have taken over the state simply because it’s the same thing as voting for Husted. At least I know with one Redfern’s socialists I am going to get screwed. With Husted it’s all Rush Limbaugh talk, and then the prison intercourse.

Sorry, no nose holding here.

Two Core Litmus Tests for Politicians

11 June 2009 · Leave a Comment

I like the idea of litmus tests. They’re simple and provide results straight away. I’ll bet most of you have a litmus test of your own; is the person pro-life or pro-choice; does he or she make you feel good, or bad; do they go to church or not. But aside from the typical issue specific ones, I think we need to have some litmus tests to measure the core being and traits of a person. Straight away I can think of two types of tests that would measure something from our grade and secondary school years, which would provide a very telling glimpse about a person holding or running for office.

The first test would tell whether the person served on student council, and the second, if they were a hall monitors. These two simple tests can tell you a lot about the core make up of the person. Just stop and recall the type of person I am describing. The student council politician was one of these kids that had this deep-seated belief that they know what’s best for you, and it is their destiny to rule the community, and were constantly driven to be in the spotlight and liked by everyone, especially the school administration.

The hall monitor was generally the kid that lacked the charisma to get elected to student council. They saw the world in black and white terms, and had no problem ratting you out to the authorities. While they secretly harbored desired being elected to student council, they really didn’t care if you like them or not.

These are two groups of people I don’t want running my government. They scare the living hell out of me. But do I really think we can liberate our system from these people? Well no; honestly, we actually need people that have these some of these traits. But it’s a good idea to stick the piece of paper in their mouth at election time and if the reading is too strong we should reject them.

Since we do need to have folks that have some degree of these traits, we have to make sure we don’t give them too much power. Generally when those kids grow up they’re nice enough people, but when given a little too much power those old school time traits really surface and well you know they grow into Pelosi, Bush, Kennedy, Specter, Husted, DeWine, you get the idea.

Well, if I could find a way to develop this type of litmus test I think I’d either be rich or dead. But then again, with the way our county is going I’d probably just end up being poor.

InfoWars IS A Must

14 December 2008 · Leave a Comment

For the last fews years we have watched the US MSM spiral down the toilet, and as each year goes by, they loose more and more creditability. Much of the loss results from the industries general socialist bent and their collusion with the political class, but also their inability to conduct through and solid research. Interesting enough as the MSM belittles blogging the same people are turning to bloggers for their tips and ideas, and quite are few are actually sourcing blogs, go figure.

So the problem we are faced with is the acquisition of creditable information to make discerned decisions. While there are certainly websites that offer a good collection of various news and information (Breitbart, Drudge, What Really Happened), they are still tied to the MSM as their central supplier of news. However, there is one source that offers news and analysis above the “cut and paste” regurgitation, both in the audio and written format, that being the Alex Jones Radio Show and his companion website InfoWars.Com.

I came across The Alex Jones Show by happenstance a couple of years ago while I was driving through Athens Ohio. I happen to pick the radio station AM 770 in mid stride of one Alex’s interviews. The interview was a strange mix between the radio show “Coast to Coast” and the old 60 Minutes of the 1970s era. On my way back to Lancaster  I was able to continue receiving good reception without being drowned out by big Columbus AM radio stations; and I have been a fan since.

Now I have to tell you I don’t concur with everything Jones says, but what I have found is couple of items that keep me listening. First and foremost Jones brings to the air waves a wide array of subject matter experts on topics such as government, intelligence, occult, Illuminati, war, 9/11 truth, the United Nation, politics, health for example, that provide a wealth of information you are not going to get in the MSM. Some are well researched armatures, while some are professional researches that tend to write for academic journals. Jones doesn’t always agree with them, but he does give them the platform to offer real alternative points of views. This I believe is the central missing component in our current state of news and information. Now be prepared, Jones isn’t the best interviewer. Often he tends to talk over his guests, but in the end the guest gets most of their information out and you can go to other informational sources to follow up on the issue and find information from the guest, and Jones always links to the guest so it’s fairly easy to begin your own analysis.

Another item that keeps me coming back to Jones is his ability to “connect the dots.” Now I’ve worked in the analytical business for some time and I can tell you from my perspective he gets it right much of the time. He’s not perfect, but who is. Most intelligence analysts don’t get it right and if Jones gets it right 50% of the time he is doing better than our intelligence community. And he definitely is head and shoulders above the MSM; when was the last time you read any predictive analysis coming out of the New York Time? One point Jones always clearly makes is not to trust his word, but to seek out the facts and conclusions on your own; a point worth realizing in this day and age.

Now there are a few things I disagree with Jones, one being his subtle attacks on the Latin Rite, or the Catholic Church. Jones’ conclusion is certainly bent upon his own religious upbringing and biases (I won’t go into this right now). But I have to say that he always brings himself back to one simple and true statement for the audience; I paraphrase, that in all of these organizations, be it government or faiths or associations, there are good as well as nefarious people. So I generally get past his rants. Speaking of rants, he is certainly prone to them, but like any electronic media you have the choice to turn it to another station or simply off.

I listen to The Alex Jones Show as often as I can, I get the podcasts, and I go to his website almost everyday. The guy provides a mountain of information daily, he cares about liberty, and above all is not a nut case. He might not connect the dots as I would, but the bottom line is that he has “identified” many of the dots. That in itself is critical. Those that are on firmly in the fight for freedom and liberty cannot and should not go without tapping into Alex Jones. This nation’s wellbeing and our freedom is too important not to.

I have been reading the various weblogs from Ohio that are published on a site called BlognetNews.Com/Ohio. It’s a large nationwide site that has separate pages for each state also.

While I know there are other good Ohio based weblogs out there, this particular site provides a fair range of the various political and ideological perspectives across our state. Check it out when you get a chance.

Ohio Freedom Alliance

18 August 2008 · 1 Comment

This past weekend a friend of mine told me about an online site called the Ohio Freedom Alliance. The group’s founders tell a little about themselves here, and it comports pretty much to those that seek limited government, liberty, freedom, and the free markets. It looks to be a great networking home for true republicans, traditional conservatives, and libertarians.

For those that “lean” toward the US Constitution, please consider supporting this group. Hopefully this might grow throughout Ohio to become the one place that freedom loving folks can get together and change this state’s miserable path.
