Hello world!

The picture contained here is the wreckage of the USS Maine, which sank on February 15, 1898 in Havana Cuba. While the explosion remains a mystery, the sinking helped precipitate our war with Spain, which began in April 1898. This war propelled the United States into the world geopolitical arena during which we abandoned the beliefs the Founders had hoped would prevent our country from being involved with European follies.

The sinking of the USS Maine became one of the many “naval” incidents that has drawn the U.S. into war. However, time and time again we fall into the trap of war through the wild hysterical reaction to revenge the foe. But do we really know the truth? Did we know the truth about the sinking of the USS Maine, or how about the RMS Lusitania, or USS Arizona or USS Liberty; how about the capture of USS Maddox, or the most recent attack on the USS Cole?

Ultimately this leads to the attack on the World Trade Center that occurred on September 11, 2001. What really happened there? Do we really know? I say no; I truly believe there is much more about this incident than we know today. But unless we, the US citizenry, ask questions and demand our media and politicians do their job we will continue to led down road of European follies.

You may not like what I have to say or my opinion about a given subject. But through some debate and exploration you might begin to understand my judgement; give it a try.
